James Baldwin Bio – DRiA

Baldwin’s work frowns upon the racism and his sexuality in the mid 20th century, beginning his life August 2nd, 1924- December 1, 1987. Writing essays, novels, stories, to plays, James Arthur Baldwin never failed to express himself or explain his situation of being a negroe in this WHITE America. He was an extraoardinary activist and poet. A few of his Another Country and Giovanni’s Room. He was born in Harlem, New york, attending DeWitt Clinton High school in the Bronx. One of his major works included the writing of a screenplay projected upon the life of Malcom X which became a well-known film of Spike Lee. He never changed his ways, respecting the many minds of others, yet keeping and not being afraid to express his ideas, befriending Malcom X and Dr.Martin Luther. I believe this is what makes him a smart person. 🙂
